We wish you a smooth travel to Edmonton. We hope the following information will help you with reaching your destination.

Airport

The Edmonton International Airport is located about 20 miles from the city center. Once you exit the baggage claim, you can find signs directing you to the information booth where someone will be there to assist you with finding ground transportation and your destination hotel/Campus address.

Transportation to Hotels and Residences:

You may either take a taxicab, shuttle, or bus to reach your destination.

Taxicab

The Taxi services are provided at the airport by Airport Taxi Services. Each taxi may accommodate up to three passengers. The fares are based on zones. Typically your hotel or the University campus will be located in Zone 23, for which the fare will be approximately $46.

Shuttle Vans

Shuttle services are provided by SkyShuttle. The shuttles stop at all major hotels, as well as at the University Lister Centre (which is the location of the Dorm accommodation). The link to SkyShuttle’s website is given below. They have a kiosk at the Arrivals/baggage claim level of the airport.

Bus RT747/Light Rail/ETS

The Airport Bus (Edmonton Transit System:) Fare: $5

There is a bus service from the airport that will take you to the Century Park LRT Hub. Here you will transfer to the LRT train to reach the University Station. From the University station, the Lister center is a 15 minute walk. The following link will give you more information about the bus service. If you purchase a transfer on the bus, you can continue your ride on the LRT. Please check with the bus operator. Buses require payment of exact fare.

Please note that the bus/LRT service may not be very convenient for the Metterra, Varscona or the Downtown hotels. Only persons coming to the University Residences or the Campus Tower Hotel may find this option suitable.

Conference Venue

The conference will be held at the Engineering Teaching and Learning Complex (ETLC) solarium.

Address: Located on 116th Street in between 91 Av and 92 Av.

The solarium is located on the second floor of the ETLC building. There will be signs with arrows pointing you to the building and the Solarium. Registration will be open at the Solarium from 5 pm on Sunday, June 24. The mixer will be open from six pm at the same location.

Once you reach ETLC solarium, the registration desk and the volunteers will guide you to the meeting rooms. All meeting rooms are located in the ETLC building and the adjacent Natural Resources Engineering Facility (NREF) building.

We look forward to seeing you at the ETLC solarium for the opening mixer on Sunday Evening.

Shuttles

Shuttles will be available from the conference hotels (Metterra and Varscona) in the morning to bring you to ETLC every day.
The shuttle will also be running between Metterra and Varscona and the ETLC building on Sunday evening. Please check with the hotel front desks for service availability and timing.

There is no shuttle service for the Campus Tower, or Lister Hall residences, as these are within close walking distance.

Conference Banquet

The conference banquet will be held at Hotel MacDonald. Shuttles will operate on Tuesday June 26th from 5 pm taking the guests from the various hotels and the ETLC building to the banquet venue. The hotel can also be reached by LRT fairly readily. Please check with conference volunteers for further information about the banquet. All participants who have obtained the banquet tickets will be provided the information with the registration packs.

Parking

Parking is available at three locations on 116th Street between 87th Av and North Saskatchewan Drive. These are

Varsity Parking Lot: Entrance on 116th Street, right off 87th Av.
Stadium Car Park: Take a right on 89th Av off 116th Street, then head to the entrance of the parkade to your left.
Windsor Car Park: Take the first right on 116th Street after crossing 92 Av.

All parking lots are paid parking facilities. Please park at the visitor parking spots. Parking rates are available at the paying stations. Credit cards are accepted at the parking pass vending machines.
